Mike is the Managing Partner of Group 1066. He focuses on the marketing and packaging of services for B2B firms, in particular those bundling services and technology.

Most recently, he has worked with Microsoft, Lehman Brothers, and Banta (now RR Donnelley). In doing so, he looks for ways for firms to help their customers build clear "mental models" of offerings. When customers have a clear picture of what is for sale, it is far easier for them to buy.

Mike has lectured on these and related challenges of branding and marketing strategy in the Daytime and Executive MBA programs at Duke's Fuqua School of Business. He has also taught the course "Creativity in Business" at Johns Hopkins as well as conducted seminars for organizations such as the American Council of Engineering Companies and the Product Development and Management Association. He also writes on the marketing of services and technologies, most recently he published an article on new service development in DM Review.

Along with the satisfaction of seeing a client's business grow as a result of an effective marketing strategy, Mike has been recognized for marketing excellence by organizations such as Champion Paper, Print Magazine, The Business/Professional Advertising Association, PHH, and ACE. Mike was also recognized for brand management excellence by General Foods.

Prior to Group 1066, Mike was at branding firm Siegel & Gale where he helped revitalize the brands of organizations such as MFS Mutual Funds, The U.S. Air Force, Credit Suisse, and HNTB.

At Fantus Consulting, a division of Deloitte & Touche, he led competitive and business planning engagements for a variety of corporate clients. Mike started his career at Fantus. He directed the firm's marketing, helping to introduce and support a value-pricing model that contributed to a significant increase in revenue.

He has an MBA from The Fuqua School and a BA in English Literature from Johns Hopkins.
